National Environmental Education Week is a week dedicated to spreading awareness about our environment and about conservation. Taking care of our environment is incredibly important! The Earth needs our help to stay healthy; this article is going to cover a few ways you can be more environmentally friendly and help our planet!

Eat plant-based

Eating plant-based has so many positive impacts on the environment! The meat industry is the leading cause of CO2 in our atmosphere. Avoiding meat in your diet is an excellent way to reduce your CO2 output. Beef is actually the largest source of greenhouse emissions. Even eating meatless one day a week is a great way to be a little more environmentally friendly. Vkind Cooks can help with tons of recipes to help you make the transition easier.

Choose to use reusable items

Using single-use items like plastic bags can have a major impact on our environment. It is estimated that, as humans, over half of the plastic that we produce and use is single-use. Avoiding single-use items like plastic forks, cups, etc., and using an environmentally friendly option makes a bigger impact than you would think!

Walk or take public transit

Walking or taking public transit is much more environmentally friendly than driving everywhere! It may seem like something small, but avoiding the excessive use of cars can help our environment quite a bit! Cars produce a lot of CO2 emissions which are very harmful to the environment. By walking, taking public transport, or even carpooling, you can easily reduce your daily output of CO2!

Taking small steps to live a more environmentally friendly life can make a bigger impact than you’d expect! Use this National Environmental Awareness Week to be more conscious of the environment and to learn more about how to care for it!
