Kevin Hart Opens Hart House In LA

Kevin Hart, the actor and comedian, is launching a new vegan fast-food restaurant in Los Angeles.

Hart House, a new restaurant that will open this summer, will provide fast-food staples with a plant-based twist.

The Double Burg’r, for example, is a burger with American cheese, Hart House special sauce, and two plant-based patties. There’s also the Deluxe Crispy Chick’n, which includes French Fries and Crispy Tots as well as “hunny” mustard and pickles.

Hart devised the menu with entrepreneur Andy Hooper and former chef Michael Salem (who launched the Impossible Whopper to Burger King) to appeal to meat lovers.

“I think it’s important for us to be a restaurant that first and foremost serves a crave-able product that people go out of their way to consume… Then at the end, we’re like, ‘Hey, by the way, this just happens to be all plant-based,” Hooper told Los Angeles Mag.

Celebrity Influence

During COVID-19 lockdowns in 2020, Hart came up with the concept. The restaurant is now open after two years of hard work on the menu. The three, however, will not be stopping in one place. West Hollywood will get another location, and there will be more after that.

“I think this is really the future of fast food… So that’s why I took the gig. I just thought it was an incredible chance to really make a difference and leave a legacy on food service and an industry that’s been so good to me,” Salem said.

Hart isn’t the first star to own a vegan fast-food restaurant. Lewis Hamilton, the Formula One champion, is a supporter of the vegan fast-food restaurant Neat Burger in the United Kingdom.

Leonardo DiCaprio recently invested in the company, which plans to expand to the United States this year.

The Oscar winner and environmentalist invested in Neat Burger to “disrupt the food system with sustainable alternatives,” according to him. He called the company “pioneering” and a “great example” of the types of solutions the food business needs.
