Homemade Cashew Cheese

Homemade cashew cheese, easy to make, prefect as an alternative cheese in recipes and as a spread.

My Story

For years I was sure that a cashew cheese is very complicated to make, as it sounds to me like something from a gourmet meal. When I finally got my courage to look for a recipe, I realized it's not a big effort at all, and the taste, is so worth it. Since then I make it when I feel like having a creamy spread, a side for breakfast or the highly recommended use, cashew chees pizza.

  • 1 cup cashew presoaked
  • 1/3 cup tap water
  • 1 tsp Agar Agar powder
  • 1/4 lemon
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black paper
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp chives option


  • Soaked the cashew for 4 hours, possible to leave it for the night
  • Take the water out
  • Bland all of the ingredients together to a chunky texture (you can go all the way and make it smooth with a little more water)
