Canada’s Odd Burger Intends to Franchise in 25 US States

The first vegan fast food restaurant to go public, Odd Burger, has announced the beginning of its franchising activities in the US.

In order to sell franchises in 25 states, including Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Delaware, District of Columbia, Idaho, Iowa, Kansas, Massachusetts, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Vermont, West Virginia, the Canadian vegan fast food chain has established a Delaware corporation that will act as the franchisor and operate as Odd Burger U.S.

The information was released shortly after the chain revealed intentions to open 40 additional restaurants in Ontario over the following eight years. The company also said in July of this year that it had purchased 5.5 acres of land in London, Ontario, where it planned to build a 50,000 square foot manufacturing facility.

Under the name Preposterous Foods, Odd Burger produces and distributes plant-based proteins and dairy substitutes to food service channels. The shares of Odd Burger Corporation are traded under the symbol ODD on the TSX Venture Exchange, under ODDAF on the OTCQB, and under IA9 on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.

“We could not be more excited to initiate our U.S. expansion and extend our brand to millions of people in the U.S. market… We have already received hundreds of inquiries from potential franchisees in the U.S. and now we will begin the process of finding the perfect franchise partners to work with,” said James McInnes, Co-Founder and CEO of Odd Burger.
