Back in 2014 Dr. Eddie, a practicing pediatrician, found himself tired of recommending adult dandruff shampoos (as recommended in the pediatric literature) to fix the red, and scaly condition on very young children’s scalps known as seborrheic dermatitis. People commonly refer to this condition as “cradle cap.”

These shampoo’s work to address the issue but they were designed for the skin of an adult and many times have strong fragrances that are not suited to dry, irritated skin.

Dr. Eddie wanted a medicated shampoo that would take care of the scaling, flaking and redness of the skin made from the ground up with the sensitive skin of a child in mind.

In his pediatric experience, many families would try oils or petroleum jelly which led to treatment failure and further frustration. Dr. Eddie wanted an effective solution that he could whole heartedly endorse to treat a common yet frustrating problem.

As a pediatrician weary of using scented products on delicate skin, he developed Happy Cappy Medicated Shampoo & Body Wash so that children now have a gentle cleansing, fragrance free shampoo that actually works to eliminate these bothersome symptoms while taking into account skin that could easily be irritated with a scented product.

It took four years for Dr. Eddie to bring his vision to fruition with the launch on Amazon (2018) of Happy Cappy Medicated Shampoo and Body Wash. Within two and a half years of the Amazon launch, this remedy for flaking has 3,500 ratings on Amazon with a 4.6 rating and is praised not only for what it has done for children but also for adults!

Seeing consumers embrace Happy Cappy in the way they have is very fulfilling for our company. It feels really good to improve peoples health and well-being.

Getting pediatricians across the country to also attest to our product’s safety and effectiveness and has been very gratifying for us as well.

Dr. Eddie is very proud that within two years of the 2018 launch, Happy Cappy Medicated Shampoo and Body Wash appeared on the shelves of Walgreen’s and Buy Buy Baby stores across the country.

Looking to provide the best care possible for for sensitive eczema prone skin and wanting to offer a safe and trusted irritant free cleanser for the days the medicated shampoo was not needed led to the launch of Happy Cappy Daily Shampoo and Body Wash in June of 2018.

In May of 2020, Happy Cappy combined the natural redness soothing ingredient found in all of or products, Licorice Root Extract, with glycerin in a sophisticated formulation with the highest quality petrolatum to yield Happy Cappy Moisturizing Cream.
