The Vegan Cooking Shows That Are Changing The Industry

Author: Nina Sumner

There are over 230 million people enjoying plant-based meals (and watching vegan cooking shows) across the world and it probably comes as no surprise to read that the food they are consuming is anything but basic, boring, or minimalistic in its spoke.

Recently, one of the most televised chefs in the world, Gordon Ramsay, revealed “a secret so big” he was “scared to say on national television.” The secret was simply that he loved vegan cuisine, and now has marvelous vegan dishes on offer at many of his iconic establishments.

Take his Hell’s Kitchen restaurant in DC, which now serves 60 percent meat-free items. Mouthwatering delights include pan-seared tofu scallops with celery root and pickled Granny Smith apples, and beluga lentils with sautéed vegetables and shaved fennel salad.

As far back as 2021, Ramsay changed the face of televised cooking shows by inviting vegan contestants to compete on Hell’s Kitchen for the first time in the show’s 17-year history.

In many ways, Ramsay has paved the way for many other celebrity chefs who are passionate about revealing the many tasteful, beautifully presented, and mouthwateringly delicious vegan recipes that don’t take hours to prepare.

Read on to discover top vegan cooking shows and media channels, so you can recreate some of your dishes for yourself and your loved ones.

The Foodie Takes Flight

This popular Instagram channel boasts an impressive 959K+ followers and it is the baby of fervent vegan Jeeca, a food content creator and recipe developer who specializes in easy yet flavor-packed vegan recipes. The magic began in 2015, when Jeeca started her Instagram account (she was fresh out of high school!).

With a long summer break ahead of her, she began her cooking channel to bide time until she began university. She taught herself many of the skills she uses today, but does credit her mom and grandmother, whose love of cooking were no less than infectious.

Jeeca’s channel has upped the vegan recipe game with a host of Asian vegan recipes such as Chinese sweet and sour “pork,” sticky rice, crispy salt and pepper tofu, and chili garlic oil noodles.

She also cooks vegan versions of Filipino dishes like tapa, kare-kare, and kaldereta. Foodie Takes Flight

Tabitha Brown

For many people, one of the most attractive things about going vegan is feeling more positive about the Planet, and Tabitha Brown’s TikTok channel (with a whopping 5.2M+ following) certainly taps into this vibe.

TikTok is inherently quick and a great time investment when it comes to recipes, and this channel will empower you to whip up restaurant-style meals in a matter of minutes.

Tabitha makes everything from pasta dishes to wraps and burgers… but the value of her channel goes way beyond the food. She also promotes positivity and a growth mindset and gives us insights into her daily life.

The channel shows that cooking channels don’t have to be exclusively about food. Rather, they can also entertain and inspire followers. TikTok channel: iamtabithabrown

PlantYou by Carleigh Bodrug

If you always wanted to prepare healthy anti-inflammatory vegan foods that look like they were prepared by a chef, then PlantYou is the ideal cooking recipe channel for you.

Carleigh Bodrug started her channel with a laudable dream: to help people integrate plant-based foods into their diet. The reason is evident— study after study has shown that veganism is very much in line with anti-inflammatory nutrition.

If you are a health buff, then you know that inflammation is linked to a host of chronic diseases, including heart disease and obesity. Yet Western diets are sadly very high in inflammatory foods like palm oils, refined carbohydrates, and sugar.

This channel reveals that consuming an anti-inflammatory diet is easy and you don’t have to sacrifice an iota of flavor! She uses plenty of seasonal fruits and vegetables, healthy oils, legumes, nuts, and seeds in her cooking.

Just a few recipes that will surely tantalize your taste buds are shredded tofu wraps, peanut stew with sweet potato, cauliflower and chickpeas, and vegan Caesar salad with crispy tofu. TikTok channel: PlantYou

Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives

Catch all the vegan joints featured on Guy Fieri’s show, Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives. In the show, he parks his car in front of a host of vegan eateries across the nation.

Just a few stops where you can see how to-die-for vegan dishes are made are Modern Love, Cornbread Café, and Tumerico. This show is all about inspiring viewers to use new herbs and spices, try out new techniques, and put a bit of heart into embellishing vegan dishes and trying food made with international influences.

Conclusion

TikTok, Instagram, TV, and streaming services are filled with exciting vegan content that can make plant-based dining so much tastier. TikToks are short and sweet, and many creators offer the recipes online on their websites.

Let them inspire you not only to create wonderful food, but also to embrace positivity and to realize that there is indeed plenty you can do for the Planet by taking small steps in the direction of veganism.
