Please join the Veg Society of DC Book Club discussion of “Finding the Mother Tree: Discovering the Wisdom of the Forest” by Suzanne Simard. This meeting will take place online, via zoom.

“Simard’s memoir describes the intersecting webs of her career and private life that brought her to rewrite not only the forestry canon but our understanding of nature itself. … If a forest is a commons where the fate of the weakest is tied to that of the strongest, then we have a lot of rethinking to do.” —The Washington Post

To participate you must read at least half the book — and RSVP at least two days before the meeting. People who RSVP yes will get the details to join the discussion (the weekend before the meeting). The details will not be posted on meetup.

The VSDC Book Club began meeting online in March 2020 (previously we met in vegetarian restaurants in DC or nearby Maryland or Virginia). We read fiction and nonfiction in alternating months, about any topic.
