What is Tempeh? Originating in Indonesia and traditionally made with soy beans. Tempeh is made by cooking beans, adding a live culture and allowing them to ferment for a few days in a temperature controlled environment. The result is an extremely nutritious and versatile food that can be sliced, diced, or crumbled. Tempeh can then be marinated, seasoned, fried baked or steamed.
