That was our mission when we first started making vegan chicken from scratch back in 2005. What began as an experiment in our own kitchen grew into an obsession to create satisfying alternatives to the catastrophic impact the meat industry has on our planet, our animal friends, and our own health.
We started Clean South in 2015 using $3000 we had saved to pay for our wedding. It was nerve-wracking but we believed in our product...luckily so did our first customers! We made back our investment plus more in time to cover our wedding expenses and enjoy what is still one of the best days of our lives.
Since 2015, we have worked hard to perfect and grow our take on vegan comfort food through food festivals, farmer’s markets, combo meals in local grocery stores, and finally, by offering the first grab-and-go vegan wing on the market, ready to eat right out of the package, hot or cold, and delicious in everything from tacos to salads to pizza and sandwiches. Clean South is a family-owned, values-based business owned and operated by Jessica Parker and Daniel Weisberg. We met in middle school and from day one, we were challenging each other: to do more, work harder, dream bigger. We became vegetarian together in 2003 and Clean South is the culmination of our passion to do what we love every day -- to bring more happiness and peace into the world while helping people create memories through food.
