The only bakery serving classic & gourmet treats that you'd never imagine were vegan ~ with over 20 years of primarily self-taught cooking experience, baking exclusively vegan for almost 11 years. We brought the best to the Austin area since 2015, and now we bring the best to the tri-state area between Northern Alabama, Georgia, and Tennessee. Every order is carefully made by hand by yours truly, a landlocked mermaid chef who bakes compassionately to protect her animal friends.
All items are prepared fresh & made-to-order, planned to be ready right before pickup for maximum home-baked freshness. I grew up in a family that owned small restaurants, so I have very high standards for food. When I went vegan overnight in February 2010, I had to re-learn how to make everything! This was especially true in southern West Virginia, where ready-made vegan options were scarce to none. I re-created all my favorite dishes from homestyle to gourmet, and most people can't tell that they're vegan!
As a vegan establishment, I personally ensure all your favorite treats are completely free of products containing dairy/lactose/casein/milk derivatives, eggs, gelatin, confectioner's glaze/shellac, bone-char whitened sugar, cochineal coloring, and all animal byproducts. I have been vegan for over 10 years, and know the ins and outs of extensive label-checking. All my ingredients are of the finest quality, and almost all are organic, fair trade, and/or locally sourced when possible, and all of our packaging is compostable or recyclable. When you order from us, you are supporting a small, local, 2nd-generation American (my grandmother was a Greek immigrant), disabled, woman-owned 100% vegan business that avidly recycles, upcycles, & composts; advocates veganism/animal/human rights, helps kitties & local animal rescue efforts, AND eco-friendliness! I specialize in traditional gourmet treats, but can easily make almost anything gluten-free, soy-free, nut-free, and/or refined sugar-free, and have also had great success with low-carb keto baking! I take every possible step to prevent cross-contamination of my gluten-free, soy-free, and nut-free products, and I always make everything 100% vegan - dairy and egg free. However, I do use wheat, soy, and nuts frequently - so if you have a very severe allergy, these treats may not be right for you.
I take custom orders any time. Please try to place a custom order with me no later than a week before you need your items, as many of the yeast items require many hours of preparation.
