DESCRIPTION:If you are ready to come out of hibernation and jump head first into some serious hiking\, then join us on one of the most popular hiking trails in the DMV area – the Billy Goat Trail A! It offers stunning views of the thundering Great Falls as well as the calmer sections of the Potomac River. \nImportant information-\nMeeting Point: Great Falls Tavern Visitor Center\n11710 Macarthur Blvd · Potomac\, MD\nParking: Paid\nDistance: 4.5 miles\nPace: moderate (2.5-3 miles/hr)\nDifficulty: Challenging (involves about 2 miles of rock scrambling)\nDuration: 3 hours\nTrail Surface: Hard-packed dirt on towpath\, and mostly rocky on section A\nHiking Map: https://imgur.com/a/qhBxTbJ\nRecommended read: https://www.nps.gov/choh/planyourvisit/billy-goat-trail.htm\nBathroom Facilities: Near the visitor center \nPlease do not attend if you are sick or have been near someone who thinks they may have or have been exposed to COVID-19. \nDog friendly?: No\, because of the rocky terrain. \nFood/Water: Bring your own vegan snack and (non-alcoholic) beverage to enjoy.
