DESCRIPTION:Are you interested in creating massive change for animals and helping save countless lives? Please join [VSDC](vsdc.org) and vegan meetup friends on Saturday\, September 7th\, for a presentation on how to create partnerships that make it advantageous for businesses to promote plant-based eating (schools\, colleges\, restaurants\, chains\, etc.).\nWe have 2 VSDC members who are the presenters:\n— Max Broad\, President of DC Veg Week\n— Aashish Bhimani\, committed activist\nExamples of successes include a partnership with a PTA that resulted in over 400\,000 students having access to plant-based meals and working with the third largest food distributor in the country. The presentation will provide real-world examples and training on how to make a difference for animals and the environment\, and will connect you with key people as well. \nThe event will take place at the upscale and vegan-friendly Equinox Restaurant\, newly located in their 19th St location. Equinox features locally sourced\, seasonal ingredients and the event includes a vegan lunch from celebrated chef Todd Gray\, all for this great price including tax and gratuity. \nYou will choose one of the following:\n**- Chanterelle & Trumpet Mushroom Wellington**\n*Sweet Corn Purée\, Wilted Spinach\, Pea Tendrils*\nor\n**- Shiitake & Trumpet Mushroom Teriyaki**\n*Grilled Tofu\, Wilted Spinach\, Delmarva Tomato Grits*\nor\n**- Farro Risotto with Basil Pesto**\n*Summer Zucchini\, Yellow Squash\, Heirloom Cherry Tomatoes (PB)* \n**Location**\nEquinox Restaurant is located at 900 19th St NW\, Washington DC 20006.\nTaking Metro is recommended; the Farragut West station is a block away and Farragut North and Foggy Bottom stations are a few blocks away.
