DESCRIPTION:***Update 3/4/25: The new location for this event is the Cleveland Park Library\, 3310 Connecticut Ave NW\, Washington\, DC 20008.*** \nPlease join us as the [Veg Society of DC](vsdc.org) launches the Animal Rights Discussion and Education Group. \nIf you’ve been looking for a way to educate yourself on animal rights and issues affecting animals in our world today with the support of a like-minded community\, then this group is for you. The VSDC Animal Rights Discussion and Education Group will discuss thoughts\, questions\, concerns\, and news related to animal rights. It seeks to provide a safe space for discussions around issues affecting captive animals\, farmed animals\, animals used in research\, wild animals\, companion animals\, and more. \nAll are welcome\, from those well-versed in animal rights philosophy and issues to those who are just starting off on their journey and are curious to learn more. Please come with an open mind\, an open heart\, and a willingness to engage with diverse opinions with curiosity and respect. \nThe plan is for the group to meet every other month. The topic of each meeting and any accompanying materials will be planned in advance and posted in event announcements via this VSDC meetup group. Participants are encouraged to offer topic ideas and materials for discussion at subsequent meetings. \n**Date / Time:** Sunday\, March 9\, from 2 to 3:30 pm.\n*Note: Daylight Savings Time starts March 9th so plan accordingly.* \n**Location:** Cleveland Park Library (2nd floor conference room)\n3310 Connecticut Ave NW\, Washington\, DC 20008 \n****NOTE: no food is allowed in the conference room; only covered beverages (non-alcoholic) are allowed. SUMMARY:VSDC Veg Singles Improv Workshop
DESCRIPTION:**LOCATION CHANGE TO CLEVELAND PARK LIBRARY** \nJoin the VSDC Singles Group for an improv workshop! This event is strictly for fun. You do not need to have any experience with improv to join. \nSol Aziz – VSDC member and instructor with Washington Improv Theater – will be leading the group through some beginner-friendly improv games. \nThis event will take place in Meeting Room 1 at the Cleveland Park Library. \nAnyone who wants to grab food after the workshop can head to one of the vegan-friendly restaurants in Cleveland Park. \n**As a VSDC singles event\, this event is for vegan and vegan-aspiring adults who do not currently have a romantic partner.** People of any sexual orientation may join as long as they are single. Anyone 21 or older is welcome. You do not need to be looking to date; you can just come socialize with other singles. \n**Transportation**\nThe nearest Metro station is Cleveland Park on the red line.
