Hi! I am a laid back (tele)therapist who will challenge you to tackle change whenever you are ready. Mental health and running are my passions.
When I work with a client on an issue, I like to first uncover the root cause, then the focus can get branched out to other aspects of the issue. Therapy is not all about learning coping skills and finding distractions, healing begins on a deeper level. I have helped young people with a wide variety of issues including anxiety, depression, OCD, Autism, defiance, eating disorders, and family-related problems. I support millennials in tackling the unique challenges they experience.
Every client is unique and I believe that therapy is an art (combined with scientific research), and should be utilized in a way that is best-suited to help that unique individual. What works for one client may not for another, but there are multiple wonderful tools and techniques to try. The client has the power within themselves to learn how to assist or improve their situation, I am here to provide guidance, support and a judgement-free space to work in.
My all-time favorite counseling strategies involve harnessing clients’ personal talents and creativity to encourage and challenge them. A few other strategies include, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Person-Centered, Choice-Reality, and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy counseling. Employing mindfulness and “here and now” techniques are also pieces to my therapeutic approach. I emphasize the importance of self-care because it is the foundation to build upon, which needs to be nourished and sturdy.
